Nestas fotografias estou eu e os meus dois irmãos. Nascidos e criados em Rio Tinto, o Gonçalo é o nosso irmão mais velho e o Nuno é o meu irmão gémeo idêntico. Bastante idêntico até. Só que, na verdade, o meu irmão gémeo não existe.
"Gémeos Falsos" ("Fake Twins") é um trabalho que explora a facilidade em mentir e manipular a verdade. Apesar da nossa compreensão da manipulação digital de imagens, ainda tropeçamos em mentiras bem contadas a partir de estratégias muito simples.
In these photographs are me and my two brothers. Born and raised in Rio Tinto, Gonçalo is our older brother and Nuno is my identical twin. Quite identical even. Only, actually, my twin brother doesn’t exist.
"Gémeos Falsos" ("Fake Twins") is a work that explores how easy it is to lie and manipulate the truth. Despite our understanding of digital image manipulation, we still stumble across well-told lies using very simple strategies.
